Katrin Laade  b.1964 Ger 1983 - 88 Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, studies with David Rabinovich und Jan Dibbets 1988 - 90 de ateliers, (postgraduate), grant of the Dutch government and the EU In my work I am creating shapes, colours and structures that seem to represent objects such as buildings, boxes, hats or teapots but escape a concrete definition. I am interested in the way conscious or unconscious perception works.As I repeat or vary most of my shapes they become signs or symbols of a personal iconography.The poetic content of the shapes is also expressed by the painting itself: the colours have to be bright but subtle, the handling of the colour direct and light.
