In the most recent series of works Mirjam Hagoort concentrates on the representation of an urban scenery, on depicting contemporary urban culture in its raw and uncultivated condition.

Only by avoiding the well known and monumental images of the cityscape it becomes possible to find a hidden relation between artefacts, spaces and their inhabitants, and present another, sometimes uneasy and troubling, idea of daily life and drama simultaneously. This approach in being supported by an appropriate technology of painting , printing and photography, all applied in one image.
